Lulusan Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Muhammadiyah Enrekang bekerja di berbagai bidang kerja dan industri, dari pemerintahan, industri kreatif dan pendidikan menengah dan tinggi, penerjemahan, hingga riset dan perubahan sosial. Walaupun bidang-bidang ini tampak berbeda, semuanya membutuhkan wawasan yang luas; cara berpikir yang kritis, runut, dan imajinatif; sikap yang fleksibel dan toleran; etos kerja yang dapat diandalkan; dan kemampuan memanfaatkan teknologi mutakhir; selain tentunya kemahiran dalam berbahasa dan berkomunikasi yang efektif dalam bahasa Inggris.
Program Studi Pendidikan Inggris telah menyiapkan mahasiswa untuk siap bersaing di tingkat nasional dan internasional, beberapa lulusan memperoleh pekerjaan dan melanjutkan studi di tingkat pascasarjana di luar negeri seperti National Sun Yat Sen University Taiwan. Lazimnya, kesempatan melanjutkan studi ke luar negeri tersebut dapat terjadi karena lulusan berhasil mendapat beasiswa melalui persaingan yang ketat pula.
Dalam beberapa tahun terakhir, alumni Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris telah tercatat sebagai pegawai di beberapa perusahaan swasta maupun instansi pemerintah. Masa tunggu rata-rata adalah 4-6 bulan dan beberapa alumni bahkan telah mendapatkan pekerjaan pertama sebelum wisuda sehingga masa tunggunya adalah 0 bulan.
PBI UNIMEN has given me a chance to renew myself. To be honest, I did not expect myself to choose an English education program for my major. This program helps me to develop my professional and personal development, it has encouraged me to improve my social skills too.
Apart from normal daily class, this program also organizes activities that expose the students about the culture and educational system of other countries, such as France, Thailand, Philippine etc. I have learnt a lot through the international seminars and workshops that was being held by PBI UNIMEN.
To be completely honest, I didn't really pay attention to this course before studying abroad, but now that I have lived in Taiwan for a year, I can see how much this course has helped me with my academic progress. I was able to fulfill my desire of pursuing my education abroad, and I felt the sense of need to show my appreciations to all the staffs and the lecturers that has always given me their best support.
I was taught and guided by highly intellectual, experienced and supportive educations who inspired me to be independent and to be a better person. In general, I have gained so much knowledge, experience and passion in the field that I have never thought I would be interested in. Lastly and most importantly, PBI UNIMEN is one of the best decisions that I have made in my life."
